Instructor's Biography - Barron Shepherd

Barron Shepherd is a 2nd degree black belt in Judo.He is the instructor for the Winter Haven Judo Club and Professional Edge Combatives in Winter Haven Fl. In his career Barron has been a USA JUDO certified coach and a lifetime member of National Sport Judo. In the mid 90’s Barron was also the regional director for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) for the sport of Judo under sensei Steve Scott.

Committed to the study of martial arts for over 34 years and dedicated to his neighborhood and community, he has done seminars on crime prevention and women’s self defense courses for several businesses, women’s organizations and clubs.

Barron was once certified to train police officers in the self defense and use of force portions of state regulated police training and has volunteered countless hours as an auxiliary law enforcement officer providing back up for regular duty law enforcement officers.

He has also worked in the film industry appearing in several episodes of the T.V. Series "Seaquest DSV" and other film related projects. He also worked full time as set and personal security during Seaquest DSV 's second season run. Presently, in addition to teaching judo and combatives, Barron frequently trains at Sasaki Judo in Orlando, Florida.

Instructor's Biography - Pablo Torres

Pablo Torres served in the United States Marine Corps 4 years active duty and 4 years as a reservist(infantry).

He currently has 19 years experience in both Law Enforcement as a law enforcement officer and in Corrections.

He is a CJSTC certified Law Enf. Firearms, Chemical Agent, Taser and Defensive Tactics instructor for Polk County Sherriff’s Office.

Torres is a 4th degree black belt in Bujinkan budo taijutsu and currently a blue belt in Gracie JiuJitsu.
